Imani’s Minister of Magnification Terrance Kelly is the lead voice in this cinematic presentation of “Wade in the Water".”

The video tells the story of a band of enslaved Africans from the past that escape to freedom only to find themselves in modern day America. "As we braid brave pathways to freedom may our Ancestors seeds of wisdom give us strength in these troubling times."

"Stories of the Faithful"

The 2012 Imani and Piedmont Community Churches Joint StoryCorps Project

Dear Imani and Piedmont Community Churches and Friends,

We are living history!

MsFannieJeffrey.png

The link below will take you to audio interviews of members from both Imani and Piedmont Community Churches, who shared their personal experiences and stories.  We dedicate this collection of interviews to the loving memory of Mother Fannie Jeffrey.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Reverend Dr. George C.L.Cummings and Reverend Bill McNabb, all of the participants from Imani and Piedmont Community Churches, my project Co-Chair Kay Asher, and the Strickland family for helping to make this long overdue project a success.

I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to the congregations of both churches for your patience and understanding as we worked to complete this valuable piece of our history.  Special thanks to the staff of Storycorps and The Contemporary Jewish Museum of San Francisco for sponsoring our project.

Peace and Blessings,

Malcolm Westbrooks
