MINISTRIES AT IMANI
CONGREGATIONAL CARE GIVERS serve the members of the Imani Community Church by nurturing, caring and facilitating the active and full participation of all Imani members in all aspects of church life.
GOD CHASERS STUDENT MINISTRY engages children and youth K-12 within and outside of the church through teaching, discipleship and fun activities to cultivate practical faith and to work together to use that faith to change the world.
GREETER MINISTRY encourages and enriches the lives of each person entering the doors of the Imani Community Church by welcoming and supporting them in a positive, friendly and spiritual manner.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY faithfully serves through extending God’s grace in various forms, namely through providing healthy nourishment to the Imani Family at various events.
IMANI YA WATUME means “Messengers of Faith” and is the liturgical dance ministry of the Imani Community Church which strives to promote a spirit of love for our African American heritage, while spreading the message of faith through praising God in dance.
KIDS FOR CHRIST is the children’s choir of Imani, and proclaims the love of Jesus Christ and spreads the message of faith and hope through singing praises with their voices every second Sunday of the month.
LIFE ENRICHMENT MINISTRY is committed to performing and preserving the legacy of the art, dance, music, literature and rich African American cultural traditions that were created by our ancestors. Dunbar and Friends, Imani Book Club, Havis and Friends and Kwanzaa Karamu Feast are just a few of the activities hosted by this ministry.
LIFE CARE MINISTRY gives God the glory by providing the Imani Community Church family with information, education and screening services regarding pertinent health care issues.
MEN OF IMANI provides Imani men with opportunities to learn and grow spiritually, be nurtured and supported, fellowship with one another and men outside of the church, and support the Pastor and the church in the development and implementation of the church’s vision and ministry.
MISSION OUTREACH MINISTRY demonstrates the love of Christ and be a positive witness to the people we serve and offers every opportunity for the members of the Imani Church to be actively involved in mission outreach in the community.
PRAYER POSSE MINISTRY provides support, nurturing and encouragement for others with the healing power of God’s wondrous works through effective praying. Noon Day Prayer was initiated 2020 in response to the Covid lockdown and has been continued during weekdays for over 3 years.
SCHOLARSHIP MINISTRY helps shepherd Imani members in grades 10-12 and their parents through the college application process from pre-SAT and SAT testing, FAFSA preparation, to college selection and acceptance. The Ministry also provides annual scholarships to exceptional members who are graduating high school and small grants to continuing college students.
SOCIAL ACTION MINISTRY provides opportunities to transform our community by educating and empowering church members and others to improve the world around them through advocacy and community organizing.
TEMPLE BUILDERS promotes spiritual and physical health and well-being among the members of the church and community via the operation of our on-site full scale workout facility.
USHER MINISTRIES (Men, Women and Youth Usher Teams) provide service and compassion through greeting, seating, and providing comfort to all church members and guests as they worship, all to the glory of God.
VOICES OF FAITH proclaim the love of Jesus Christ through song and praise, glorify and magnify His name through the ministry of music at each of our worship services.
WOMEN OF IMANI provides opportunities for adult women to engage in service, fellowship and outreach and provide one another with spiritual strength.
YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY supports and inspires young adults to strengthen their relationship with God and each other.
